Women on board PO Ferries have now got to adhere to a new policy. Because prostitution is banned on PO Ferries it has been decided that a policy of no skirts or dresses should be shorter than 2" above the knee. No cleavage is to be shown either. Women found to be breaking this policy will be refused return travel.
PO Ferries say that this policy has been brought in so that any passengers on board will not be upset by mistaking women in miniskirts as prostitutes. PO Ferries say that it is for the benefit of all passengers. Please note that this policy will not be in their terms and conditions.

How can they get away with this rule in law?
ReplyDeleteWhat they are basically insinuating is that all woman/ladies who wear mini-skirts or show a bit of cleavage are prostitutes.
No wonder its not going to be in their terms and conditions, its because its illegal and plain discrimination.
also dont be seen bending over a sheep,it may be insinuating you are shagging it, not in their terms and conditions though it still wont be allowed.
ReplyDeleteThey're looking in the wrong place.... the prostitutes are in the boardroom - and an ugly bunch they are too.
ReplyDeleteThis board are a complete sham and in the pocket of their boss Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem. Their stupidity has made POF a pale shadow of what it was.
ReplyDelete"The United Arab Emirates (UAE), under new leadership upon the November 2, 2004 death of its president, Shaykh Zayid bin Sultan al-Nuhayyan, has undergone a smooth transition, but it remains weak militarily and surrounded by several powerful and ambitious neighbors. Political reform has been minimal, but its relatively open economy and borders, particularly in the emirate of Dubai, have caused problems in proliferation, terrorism, and human trafficking.
ReplyDelete"Dubai was also an important base for the 9/11 plotters, and as one of the seven tiny states that make up the United Arab Emirates, it does not recognize Israel," Corky Siemaszko wrote in the February 21, 2006, New York Daily News.
The USA was so concerned about terrorism and security that it blocked the purchase by Dubai Ports World (DPW) of 6 of it's ports. These ports are now in USA hands.
The Labour government in the UK allowed the sale of our ports to DPW. These ports are London and Southampton!!!!
Feel safe?
oh thats just fucking great. these arabs can bring anything they like into there own ports then. not just small baggage is it but fucking containers. what a joke this cuntry is.
DeleteI think that if there is a 'fancy dress' night on a cruise, all males should dress as female 'prostitutes' and all females as 'Arab Sheikhs' wearing long coats in which they can hide AK47's, any amount of hand-guns, a few grenades and whatever else they fancy-perhaps a few Durex ;)
ReplyDeleteI seriously think that this idiotic policy needs testing!
Golden rule of business is never let an accountant run a business. Helen Deeble, CEO of POF is an accountant!
ReplyDeleteAren't you a week late posting this?
ReplyDeleteStill, caught a good few gullible commentators off guard!
;o)
@Henry
ReplyDeleteThat explains these stupid policies that P&O come up with. This board of directors should come into the real world. That's if their arab masters will let them. lol
The problem is that we who enjoy tobacco have been saying for ages that the owners of businesses should have the basic human right to specify the rules in their premises, and not be subjected to 'one size fits all' rules originated by Holy Zealots.
ReplyDeleteIf we are to be consistent, then we must accept that P & O can have a policy. We may not like it, but we must accept it - provided that the policy is not decreed by some Tobacco Control apparatchik. Even in that case, it is for P & O to decide.
-----------
I have been only once on a trip with the guys and girls and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I would go again IMMEDIATELY, regardless of P & O policies, just for the fun of meeting Zaphod and co. Unfortunately, because of herself's medical condition, it is difficult.
In any case, there are sources.
Sorry Junican but l don't agree. This is not about premises but about the laws regarding package holidays http://www.legislation.gov.uk/uksi/1992/3288/regulation/9/made
DeletePO enter into a contract with you re minicruises. You agree to their terms and conditions. lt's binding for both parties.
PO broke the contract!
You know, I had been looking at buying one of those Utility Kilts that Screaminkiwi do (see them at the bike shows). Maybe I should and wear it on my next PO trip to see if they object to that too. Not got the legs for a mini kilt though LOL
