367 MPH!!!!!!
Thanks to Bobi we are pleased to supply info on coach companies doing cross border shopping trips. Currently we have the dates etc for May/June. Hopefully this will help you plan your trip.

The site is here.

As for our own minibus l can inform you you that things are going well and the full mechanical work to bring the minibus to 100% serviceable will be complete shortly. There was nothing major wrong with it and main expense will be the new tyres and brake shoes etc  ... along with the full service.

We're getting there folks! :)

  2. I reckon that sound system with 1500 albums and the T.V and DVD and the Sat Nav must have been expensive too.

perhaps you could publish the full details of purchase price and any additional costs so the the social club members are fully aware of all the details and how this will affect the cost of the trips.

A fully transparent costing of the operation could ease the probable harrassment you may get at the borders and will also satisfy travellers of the no profit stance too.

The side deals that both of you boys should get is of course another matter completely.

    1. The club will be formed under the legal requirements and the accounts will be handled by our accountant which will be available online. How the club exists financially is dependent on both and as yet not finalised.

As for sound system etc, we will be using existing equipment that we already have.

    2. What a shame that the club can't become a registered charity :)

    1. Thank you to all who have provided information on coach companies doing the day-trips. I will update the website as soon as possible.
I've just had a wonderful weekend in Ostend so let me recover and I'll get to it.
As to the club it looks like it will be formed under the auspices of the Industrial and Provident Societies Act, But that's for later.....

  5. If I didn't know better, I'd say all this cross-border shopping lark was just clever cover for going on umpteen jollies with like minded friends, a whacking great sound system in a customized bus and a back-up excuse of "We were delayed by three days due to unavoidable administrative problems in Cannes due to taking a wrong turning when we drove off the ferry."

"In the eyes of the Tribunal the review letter contained several preconceptions, prejudgments and non-sequiturs"

"the absurdity of this reason is demonstrated by simply stating it"

"We therefore find that Mr Sked misdirected himself as to the Policy in carrying out the review and his decision is therefore one that no reasonable review officer could have arrived at."

... commonly known here at N2D as 'Skeds' ... that is to say these are Judges comments regarding UKBA Review Officer Ian Sked's reasons for rejecting peoples appeals against seizures.
