  1. Yea I'll say one thing for Elton John and Sting they are right on this one the X factor is killing decent music.
Or is it the dummed down fuckers who support it.

  3. Never heard of her before - but then I don't get out much... What a guitarist - that's music to get seriously drunk to!!

Good to know there are some youngsters ready to follow in the footsteps of legends like Gary Moore.

  4. SH, if people want to submit an article for consideration where do they send it? I've got some swiss-cheese-for-a-brain smoking related musings...

  6. Sorry for the off-topic post, but some fun.

Remember how ten years ago thousands put down their religion as Jedi? Well, we have a new census coming up, so let's put down our religion as "smoker." Tobacco Control are leading an inquisition. Let's just highlight that fact.

Whether you want to just deny them the information that they demand from you by force or you just want to raise this issue in public once again and remind them that it is not going away, let's have some fun.
    Spread the word.

  9. Her album is definitely on top of my to buy list. She's played with the likes of Joe Bonamassa, hows that for recommendation?. Not only can she sing but she writes some great stuff too. She will be a star. Yorkshire lass too :-)

  10. For those that are #ahem# old enough to remember the likes of Stones, Zep, Free, Floyd etc when they played in little venues, you have the chance to repeat similar with Chantel. In those days the bands would stay and have drinks/smokes and mix with the audience.

Don't wait till it's too late to do it though because l can see the days of stadiums approaching for Chantel. She really can play and damn does she look good as well.

  11. The young lady in question is currently hidden away in a quiet corner of Surrey recording her first album - only hope whoever is handling it manages to capture the feeling she puts into it playing live. For those in The South, the Chantel McGregor Band are playing The 100 Club on Sat 26th March, tickets around a tenner. If you like the above (and check out her other stuff on YouTube) I suggest you get yourself along that night - have a feeling we'll not see them playing pubs for much longer...

  12. Continuing the above: For those far away from London's Fashionable West End (?!) who can't make The 100 Club , check out http://www.chantelmcgregor.com for a full listing of upcoming gigs plus a number of other videos.

  13. I've been to a lot of Chantel's gigs. She blows her audiences away night after night up and down the country. Great guitarist, great vocalist, and you could not wish to meet a nicer person. As has already been said, it won't be possible for her to keep on playing these small intimate venues. Chantel gigs constantly, don't miss out if she's playing somewhere nearby.

  16. Chantel is one of these undiscovered and highly underrated gems.

  17. WTF? How have l missed her? She IS GOOD although l'm now thinking of e-bay and getting rid of my axe/amp. l can't compete with that!

  18. Sweet Jesus but she's enough to make you wanna sing the blues in reverse (ie I FOUND a good woman, built a house, my dawg had puppies and I heard Chantel play)!

Et toi mes amis, et tooOOOOooi!

... Although she needs to lose the little black dress and Levi up.

  19. To be that good she has to have made a deal at the crossroads. l will buy her album, yes l did say buy and thats a rarity for me.

  20. SBC

Stevie Nicks did ok with dresses reckon Chantel can

    Martin

No deals at the crossroads anymore. The devil has a new venue > fucking x-factor

  21. @SH Nah that amount of talent screams out for faded Osh Kosh (and NOTHING else) and the top of a coke bottle for a slide...

You're right about the satanic element of eXcretia Factor though.

"In the eyes of the Tribunal the review letter contained several preconceptions, prejudgments and non-sequiturs"

"the absurdity of this reason is demonstrated by simply stating it"

"We therefore find that Mr Sked misdirected himself as to the Policy in carrying out the review and his decision is therefore one that no reasonable review officer could have arrived at."

... commonly known here at N2D as 'Skeds' ... that is to say these are Judges comments regarding UKBA Review Officer Ian Sked's reasons for rejecting peoples appeals against seizures.
