Resistance group now open.

Well, here's the facebook link to join the Resistance.  We will be few but at least you will be making a statement of defiance and expressing your freedom to do as you choose. You will be saying to this government that you will not finance the smoking ban and it's acolytes. Support another country who listens to it's people ... like Bulgaria where the smoking ban lasted just 3 days.

l see it as being quite exclusive as only the brave would join given the hordes of anti-smokers waiting to vent their wrath upon us .... and l do mean hordes. Just type into the search engine for groups and put in 'Smoking' or 'Smokers' and you'll see what l mean. All you get is anti-smokers using any tactic they can think of. Here's one ... here's another and not forgetting the many 'If l can get 100,000 fans my dad will quit smoking' ... or their mum, sister, brother, dog, goldfish blah blah blah.  lt really makes you despair at mankind.

Given the percentage of smokers in the UK, indeed the world, there doesn't seem to be many on Facebook. Have they been hounded off?....  is it Facebook themselves? ... is it just apathy?

So become a member of the Resistance and make a stand. The message needs now to be taken out onto the streets with stickers and leaflets put into pubs etc ... being a keyboard warrior is not enough. l've found blank black flags and am now looking how to get the designs on them. lf you've got the time ... design one of your own, it's fun. lf not wait until we can produce them and then ... fly the flag.
lt will announce that you're a member of a rather exclusive and unique group .... The Resistance.

Somewhat more gratifying will be that it states loud and clear 'FUCK OFF' to the government, the hordes of anti-smoking groups and their acolytes. Even more gratifying would be to unexpectedly come across one of these flags flying in the non-smoking occupied territories, for there would be a friend! :)

Spread the word.

This what I want to do. There must be an NHS office like this is most town and city centres. Can we coordinate something across the UK?

  2. Unforunately Pat, there is a distinct lack of field operatives. Many are happy just to be behind a keyboard. l have no problem with that as each to their own but the message won't get out there unless we do it ourselves. Many smokers even though they have the internet are not involved with anything because it is swamped with the anti-smoking brigade. Even then most of them won't be looking at blogs etc :) This is where the anti-smoking hordes have always had the upperhand. They have the funding for exposure on TV, radio and the rest of the MSM, which they used to full advantage plus sympathetic people in charge of these media outlets.

For any results at all, we have to get to where the smokers are and pull a few stunts to get noticed on the media (as yours would probably do).

We can do no more than our best but it's still got that feel good factor about it being a rebel ... even if we are few :)

  3. But that's exactly why we need to get out and reach them on the streets.

Maybe we should have a sign up form for those who can and want to come out from behind the keyboard. Two people in each town is all we need? Is that going to be really so hard to find?

This a great campaign, legal, ensures our protest is heard, and with a very simple message for both the smoker and the govt. It deserves support and I am sure it can gather pace and become popular. We should give it our best.

    So, who's up for it?

  4. Oh, l'll carry on 'raging against the machine' but not just from the keyboard.

Now, how difficult is it going to be to replace the Quens standard above Buckingham Palace with the Resistance flag? (note to spies ... this is a joke. Thought l'd better tell you that since you prob had your sense of humour surgically removed)

  5. The vast majority of smoking "heavies" dont
do bloggies and webbies. Give em badges ,give em something to upset them, give em something they can pass around, make sure there's hardly a
smokers location where there is/nt a reminder
of the stupidity with which they are treated.
Keep printing ,keep licking and sticking, all the
the time and everywhere untill the beastie awakes.
As for those who cant be arsed doing a bit of footwork, what can we say, if anything at all.

    We Few, We merry band

  6. A smoking ban means it is against the law to use or permit a legal product on 'private' property

"In the eyes of the Tribunal the review letter contained several preconceptions, prejudgments and non-sequiturs"

"the absurdity of this reason is demonstrated by simply stating it"

"We therefore find that Mr Sked misdirected himself as to the Policy in carrying out the review and his decision is therefore one that no reasonable review officer could have arrived at."

... commonly known here at N2D as 'Skeds' ... that is to say these are Judges comments regarding UKBA Review Officer Ian Sked's reasons for rejecting peoples appeals against seizures.
