Census 2011 Rebels ... did you suffer any consequences?

Did you not fill in your Census? Did you not send it back? Did you ignore it entirely? If so, what happened afterwards?

The people l know who didn't complete the Census for whatever reason have not had to suffer any consequences at all. A few had cards pushed through the door, a few had callers whom they quickly fobbed off ... and that was it!

Nothing else happened!

I thought they threatened to chase up all these people that didn't conform to the 2011 Census? They threatened heavy fines and such but where l am this was seemingly all bluff.

What happened to you?

  4. "Hello, I've come about your census form."
    "I'm not the householder."
    "Is he in?"
    "I'm not the householder."
    "When will he be in?"
    "I'm not the householder."
"Thank you, I'll try again another time."

    Never seen again. :-)

  6. They have no power over anyone who denies being the householder. None whatsoever. No names, no interrogation, no threats of legal consequences. No passing-on of messages.

They can't even demand proof. Hell, they apparently don't know the householders name!

  7. I put "drone" down as job description.

I take it they think I'm too fucking stupid to bother questioning...

  8. Zaphod says the most interesting thing they'll get off the Census is how many people are telling the gov to get stuffed. He's got a point m'thinks.

  9. Unfortunately, I was plagued by daily visits from the Census people that I caved in. Sorry I let the side down but I did not have the strength to cope with the daily visits. I did, however, respond to the reminder that "it's the law" that one should remember Hitler's Laws.

  10. Ours was sent it, with 1/2 of it filled with garbage (nationality - human; bedrooms - any room that could conceivably contain a temporary bed that someone could sleep in; occupation - tax-payer; you get the idea.)

Nowt's happened yet; is there a time limit they have after which they cannot do anything regarding non-compliance?

"In the eyes of the Tribunal the review letter contained several preconceptions, prejudgments and non-sequiturs"

"the absurdity of this reason is demonstrated by simply stating it"

"We therefore find that Mr Sked misdirected himself as to the Policy in carrying out the review and his decision is therefore one that no reasonable review officer could have arrived at."

... commonly known here at N2D as 'Skeds' ... that is to say these are Judges comments regarding UKBA Review Officer Ian Sked's reasons for rejecting peoples appeals against seizures.
